One of the problems that I observe in American society nowadays is the influx of immigrants and their mixing in the previously settled communities. I believe when people migrate, they bring with them their own set of traditions and values. It is difficult for them and for their children to mingle with the already settled social norms. They face problems in interaction and sharing their ideas. They need to be more flexible and open to accept the change and diversity that exists in the American society. Some of the main problems they face include, housing, employment, transportation and health.

These problems can be solved if the following measures are ensured:

1. before people migrate, they should be given one host family address/phone number who can help them adjust with new cultural norms. However, consent of the host family should be taken beforehand and this step should be done with mutual cooperation.

2. involve local people to offer the immigrants jobs and housing facilities so that it is easier for them to be a part of a new community.

3. allow immigrants to follow standard health practices and follow transport rules so that they become responsible members of a new society.

Suburbanization is a threat to urban areas. This proccess of the population shifting from central urban areas into suburbs began in mass amounts, in the United States, after World War II, when soldiers returned home from war and wanted to live in houses outside of the city. The threat to urban areas comes from households and businesses moving out of city centers. This leads to urban decay and a concentration of lower income residents in the inner city. This lowers economic city value and also has a negative impact on the environment. Suburbanization negatively affects the environment because more people now have no choice but to make long commutes by car to get to work, which contributes highly to air pollution.

In order to solve these problems, I think that we could start implementing suburban-style housing in cities or on the outskirts of them so that people who are seeking this life-style can still stay in the city. If this is not possible, I think they could build suburban houses closer to the cities so that maybe public transportation can come through and grab multiple people for work rather than having so many vehicles driving so far and polluting the air.
