  • Answer these three questions:
    • What are you researching?
    • What are the major/relevant themes/issues mentioned in what you’ve found?
    • Why are you choosing to focus on it in this course?
  • Include:
    • The 3 questions you used to guide your research

NOTE: You are not answering your 3 research questions in this section. You are answering the 3 questions listed above and listing your three research questions.

Minimum Requirements: Answer the 3 questions, and list your 3 quality research questions

*Images can be cited by pasting the link of the website from which you acquired the image in the sources section at the bottom of the story map. The interface requires you to name the source when you paste the link. You may name the images whatever you want (“Image 1”, “Image A”, “Picture of Amazon Rainforest”, etc.).*

Section II – Annotations (5 sources total)

Cite and annotate (make notes about) 5 sources. One source must be peer-reviewed (such as a journal article). Cite the sources with APA, MLA, or Chicago style citation format (be consistent). This will mean that you list the source (author, date, title, journal, publisher, and URL if it’s a website, etc.), then answer the following questions about each source. So, each annotation will consist of 3 parts: the proper citation (using one of the styles mentioned above), a paragraph addressing the first question below, and a paragraph addressing the second question below. Please note that each question should be answered with a paragraph (at least 3 sentences).

  • For each source, answer:
    • What is the source about, or what is the author’s point?
    • How does this specific source contribute to your research? What did you learn from it?

Minimum Requirements: 5 cited sources with a response to the two questions for each source.

Section III – Interpretation and Conclusion

Finally, summarize what all of these sources say about your topic. Try to use examples, analogies, etc. directed at the following questions. Please use complete paragraphs (at least three sentences) to answer the following questions.

  • Answer these three questions:
    • Having completed your research, what have you learned?
    • What does what you’ve learned have to do with themes, concepts or issues we’ve covered in class?
    • What claims can you make about your topic and the Geographies of the Western World more generally?

Minimum Requirements: Answers to the 3 questions.
