Think about a process or procedure that involves several steps, such as making dinner, buying a new major appliance, changing the oil in your car, preparing to move your place of residence. Prepare a Gantt or PERT chart for this procedure and attach it to your initial post. Although you can use software specifically designed for making Gantt or PERT charts, a word-processing program with table features (i.e.Microsoft Word) or a spreadsheet program (i.e. Microsoft Excel) is sufficient for our purposes. If you use another software program, be sure to convert your final document to something that the whole class can read, such as a .doc or .pdf.

For your initial post, answer the following prompts:

• Explain the steps in your chart.
• Did you add, delete or re-order any of the steps in your process?
• Why did you choose the chart format (Gantt or PERT) that you did? What advantages does the one you choose have over the other?
• How did creating this chart make you think differently about the process or procedure?
