SUNY Wk 1 Psychological Health Journal Question
Students will complete a Weekly Journal Discussion Board over the progress of their goals.
You will need to save a dated copy of your journals each week onto a word document as they will also be added to your portfolio project as a data source that will show your change over time.
Additionally, each student will be required to make 2 thoughtful comments on two other classmate’s discussion board posts. The student will choose two posts that are personally meaningful and respond in detail explaining why their post was insightful.
For both parts: the student will be required to utilize personal insight as well as vocabulary from the textbook when constructing their discussion board journals and when responding to classmates posts.
Please note the specific guidelines that students are required to follow regarding their Journal Discussion Board questions.
Students should have an awareness that the Journal Discussion Board is a place where respectful communication is expected. The personal growth goals chosen by students may be very sensitive topics. Therefore, all shared insights and feedback should be given in a positive and caring way that utilizes the core conditions of warmth, empathy, respect, unconditional positive regard, genuineness, accurate understanding, congruence, nonjudgmental. Challenges and confrontations can be given – if done so in a positive, gentle, and beneficial way. Sharing in this environment can be tremendously powerful in providing the supportive conditions needed for change.
