Data Repository Analysis

Data Repository Analysis

Andrea is a PhD student in science communication. For their thesis, they have has conducted extensive online surveys of Irish attitudes towards vaccinations and followed up with qualitative interviews with individuals and also scraped Twitter data to learn more about current attitudes towards vaccination. They are about to finish their PhD in the next year and their supervisor has asked Andrea to deposit their research data in a repository so that others can access it after they have finished their project. Your goal is to help Andrea evaluate and select an appropriate repository and advise them on preparing their data for that repository.

In 1000-1100 words (+/- 10%) (for each part you have 1100 words but people seldom take that kind of space), do the following:

Based on this brief description, describe what questions you would need to ask, what information you need, and what their data deposit needs are likely to be based on what you know about their project. What do you already know that would give you some insight into their needs? What else do you need to know? What questions will you ask Andrea to learn more?

In the rest of the assessment, evaluate TWO repositories that you find regarding the suitability of the repository for Andrea (your choice of two repositories). Based on your analysis of the repository documents and Website (and any other resources), describe whether the repository is suitable, what steps Andrea would need to make to deposit their data and make it available for secondary research, pros and cons of each repository for this situation you can identify, and other important issues that Andrea needs to make a judgment.

Please use 6-8 peer reviewed sources or professional reports/literature that you use to inform and guide your analysis in an APA formatted bibliography.
