Write a 3-5 page essay in which you discuss the way(s) television is an agent of gender role socialization.  Don’t forget to think back to our discussions of the Functionalist model of socialization (the “traditional male”, for example) and/or Orenstein’s findings regarding gender role socialization in the classroom (some of your programs may be set in a school setting, right?) in helping you devise your arguments.  I expect a minimum of THREE major arguments or themes in your work!  Your grade is dependent on the quality of your arguments/themes and your ability to defend their significance in impacting childhood socialization.
