You can think of this essay as a review of the close reading materials you read last week.
Remember that you need quotes from the text as evidence of your argumentative thesis. Use the formula
from Thursday’s handout to formulate a thesis, including DETAIL, CONCEPT, and CLAIM.
Your thesis should come either as the first sentence of your essay or at the end of an introductory paragraph.
Put your thesis in bold.
Your body paragraphs should center around the textual evidence you have collected. As I likely noted in the
comments to your previous writing, it is crucial that you elaborate on how each quote supports your
argumentative thesis.
Quotes from the text should be cited parenthetically (page numbers). (Review “Some Examples of Close
