Activity 4: Contingency Planning

Contingency planning from a security and business standpoint can be one of the most important responsibilities of the Corporate Security Manager (CSM). This activity will help you with your larger Stand-Alone Project. You will have to look ahead and consult Chapter 14 of the textbook to complete this assignment.

Draft the outline of a contingency plan for a fictional business of your choice that deals with the following issues. Your Activity responses should be both grammatically and mechanically correct, and formatted in the same fashion as the Activity itself. If there is a Part A, your response should identify a Part A, etc. In addition, you must appropriately cite all resources used in your response and document in a bibliography using APA style. This activity is comprised of three parts.  (100 points) (A 4-page response is required for the combination of Parts A, B, and C.)

Part A      Site Emergency Response Plan: Select four (4) subcategories from this section

                 and discuss how you would develop a plan for that subcategory. Developing the plan itself would require more time and effort than the scope of this assignment; therefore, you are being asked to consider the steps you would take and the considerations/concerns you would in developing plans for each of these subcategories.  (30 points)

Part B        Site Crisis Management Plan:  Select three (3) subcategories from this section

                 and discuss how you would develop a plan for that subcategory. Developing the plan itself would require more time and effort than the scope of this assignment; therefore, you are being asked to consider the steps you would take and the considerations/ concerns you would in developing plans for each of these subcategories.  (30 points)

Part C        Site Business Recovery and Resumption Plans:  Select three (3) subcategories from this section and discuss how you would develop a plan for that subcategory.  Developing the plan itself would require more time and effort than the scope of this assignment; therefore, you are being asked to consider the steps you would take and the considerations/concerns you would in developing plans for each of these subcategories.  (30 points)
