I’m working on a english writing question and need a sample draft to help me learn.

Goal: to help you explore and connect to challenging or moving characters. And to help you consider that characters come from somewhere and go somewhere. We rarely see the full life of any character, but characters teach us about people, who do have full lives. Let’s give the characters the same courtesy.

Step One: Select a character you find compelling: Adam from Paradise Lost by John Milton)

Step Two: Decide whether you want to write as that character or as an outside biographer of that character.

You can write whatever is easier for you, a biography/autobiography

Step Three: in 3-4 pages, fill in the portions of that character’s life that we do not see in whichever work we encounter that character.

1) Demonstrate a keen understanding of that character’s psychology and motivation. How did he or she get to be who he/she is? And/or where did he/she go after we lose touch?

2) If you choose an autobiography, be sure to create that character’s voice as you hear it – though you can render it in contemporary English if you prefer. If you chose biography, be sure to sound like some form of biographer.
