Prior to the 1800’s, most popular music was adapted from war songs, drinking songs or hymns, with many coming from other countries. Stephen Foster, however, is one of the first great American composers. This week you will write a 150 word biography on the life of Stephen Foster. You will want to include the dates he lived, where he is from and of course, the names and anecdotes regarding some of his famous “hits”.
