This final discussion post serves two purposes. First, this your chance to articulate how African American Literature has the power to reflect and affect African American culture. What role has and does it serve? Has it changed? Be sure to include specific examples in your argument.

Second, this takes the place of your final response essay. We are posting this in a public discussion rather than an essay because I want you all to see where your classmates’ are on this issue. How, if any, has the material affected your thinking? Is there something powerful about this literature?
