Who is right? Are smartphones and the Internet really affecting our thinking

Who is right?

Are smartphones and the Internet really affecting our thinking, perceptions, and inter-personal behavior negatively as Carr and Turkle believe? Or are smartphones and the Internet enriching our lives and actually making use smarter than before as Goldsmith and Wortham imply?
