The African American experiance means Culture, and empowerment through different authenticitys. I view African american experiance as looking into the background of african americans, being aware of the struggle and hardships someone of color has overcome and faced to push forward to the empowerful and influencel people they are now. I think having a minor in AFA can allow you to have a upperhand in a lot of careers. Can show that you have experiance with different race’s history and/or backgrounds which a lot of companys or buisnesses are looking for in graduates. Can also give you a voice and you can help xenophobic people understand why accepting other cultures is important. I think AFA can definitely help me in my field of study because I will be working with all different ethinticitys and cultures. I am most excited to see how in depth this class goes and to finally learn something other than the Highschool version of african american struggles throughout history.
