I’m working on a film writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Like many other filmmakers whom we consider “auteurs,” Alfred Hitchcock’s films contain common themes and characteristics. While this is not a complete list, the following four features are prominent:

1) suspenseful scenes of action/thrills

2) characters search for a truth

3) the theme of voyeurism

4) the use of macguffins.
