Many states around the nation have begun to reverse English-Only education policies in recognition of the value and importance of not just honoring home language, but the value of bilingualism, multilingualism and the significance of language as a cultural unifier shared in families that ties individuals to their ancestors. Many of you expressed your connections to family and home language in our short meeting Aug 25th. In your personal narrative give us your story – how does this topic touch your life and what do you hope for your community, your students, yourself as you move forward in your career and life.
