I need an explanation for this Writing question to help me study.

The Regional Center system in California (Links to an external site.) provides early intervention   services to children and their families regardless of their income or legal status. In addition, the Regional Center system in California provides for live support services to individuals with permanent disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Epilepsy, Cerebral  Palsy, and Intellectual delays .

Watch the first video below, ” We are here to speak” which shows the history of Institutionalization  of individuals with disabilities. Once these institutions were closed, the regional center system was developed.

It is an  eye opener video for you to understand how far we have come fighting for the rights of Individuals with  exception al needs.. still it continues to be work in progress!

Videos 2 and 3 about IEP’s  (educational plan for students  3 years old to 21 years old, provided by the school district). Students with exceptional needs with an IEP are able to stay in High School until the age of 

21 years old.

IFSP is an individualized service plan for children birth to 36 months old and their families, provided by the regional center system.
