Writing Homework Help

You will write a 3-4 page paper on a Composer/Lyricist (someone who write both words and music for a Broadway Musical) or a Composer/Lyricist team (where one person writes the music and another person writes the words for Broadway Musicals). Examples of Composer/Lyricist teams are Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bock and Harnick, Kander and Ebb, Pasek and Paul and Boublil and Schoenberg. Examples of composer/lyricists who write both are Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin and Lynn Manuel Miranda. It is best to decide who you want to write your paper about later in the course after you have been introduced (through the course) to many different composers and lyricists. The paper should cover their early life biography and then cover their major contributions to the field of musical theatre. You do not need to follow strict formats with things like footnotes etc. Just make sure you list your sources at the end of your paper. If you like to follow a rigid format then I would suggest MLA but it is not required.
