I’m working on a writing question and need an explanation to help me understand better.

Format: 4-5 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font, roughly 1300-1500 words

Originality & Its Nemesis

Where does the idea of “originality” come from historically and how does it relate to other concepts such as individualism, genius and authenticity? How is originality challenged by the following phenomena: reproduction, kitsch, and fashion? Answer these questions in an essay (roughly 1250-1500 words) in which you cite the texts by at least three (3) different authors, engaging with their perspectives. The following is a list of recommended authors: Berger, Staniszewski, Li, Celebonovic, Wilson, and Barthes.
