I don’t understand this English question and need help to study.

The
ideal in Homeric society is to be self-sufficient and many of the
conflicts that Odysseus faces are resolved by Odysseus alone, yet the
final conflict in the poem has to be resolved by the gods.

What significance does this have and what is Homer’s point?

in your opinion, does the abundance of divine intervention and help
Odysseus receive from Athena add or detract from his glory as an epic
hero?
