I’m working on a history writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Look carefully at the two images (St. John the Evangelist, and Virgin and Child). The first is a piece of medieval European art, the second is from the European Renaissance, several hundred years later. What is similar about the two paintings, and what is different?
