Writing Homework Help

Strayer University National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Discussion

I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

The purpose of this exercise is to explore the importance of technology in your life. How pervasive is technology? How does it affect you? Think of your typical day, from the time you wake up until you go to sleep. How many technological items touch your life in a single day? Write down as many items as you can think of in 5 minutes. Now, share your experience with others.

Write the answers to the following questions on the Discussion Board:

How many items did you identify?

List the 5 most important items that you cannot live without.

List the 5 least important items that you can live without.

What percentage of these items have been invented since you were born?

Responses to Other Students: Review at least 2 other posts. Comment on the following:

  • Identify similar important items.
  • Identify similar unimportant items.
  • Comment on why these items are considered important or unimportant.
  • What could you say about the relation between the number of new items and a person’s age?

Part 2

The events of 9/11 demonstrated the catastrophic effects of subverting critical infrastructure. Traditional weapons of mass destruction (WMD) provide another avenue for inflicting catastrophic damage. The knowledge, technology, and materials that are needed to build WMD are spreading. If terrorists acquire chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear capabilities, they are likely to try using them, with potential consequences far more devastating than those of 9/11.

Write the answers to the following questions on the Discussion Board:

  • Which type of WMD (chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear) do you think is the most destructive? Why?
  • Which type of WMD do you think is the easiest for terrorists to acquire? Why?
  • Responses to Other Students: Review at least 2 other posts. Comment on the following:
  • Do you agree or disagree with their assessment of the most destructive type of WMD? Why?

Do you agree or disagree with their assessment of the easiest obtainable form of WMD? Why?

my Peer classmate discussion

Part 1

I grew up when technology was not huge but as I got older touch screens were made and flat screen TVs then there were iPads and updated laptops so to me I feel like technology is very much pervasive is technology especially because it grows everyday. It affects me a lot because I use technology everyday rather if it is my phone, my tv, laptop, tablet, or an video game I feel like I would be bored without it. In a single day from the time i wake up until I go to sleep i use many technology objects such as:

1) Phone

2) Television

3) Camera

4) Laptop

5) Car

6) Fan

7) ATM

8) Apple Watch

9) Video games

10) Tablet

I listed 10 everyday technology uses for me the five I can not live without is my phone, ATM, fan, car, laptop. The five I could live without is the television, camera, apple watch, video games, and tablet. 80% of the items been invented before I was born 20% of the items were invented after I was born.

PART 2

After researching I believe that Nuclear is the most destructive type of WMD because Nuclear is used as a last resort if the United States needed to bring an end to an fight that was deadly and causing us harm Nuclear would be used to wipe out the enemy completely which they would only use if the enemy used their Nuclear first. The easiest WMD for terrorists to acquire in my opinion is the Chemical because they could make their own toxics and deadly chemicals from mixing things up. Especially if they have scientists n their sides to help them so I believe chemical is the easiest for them to acquir
