Your final assignment for the course is to create a Visual/Graphic Essay. Use music, video, quotes and powerful images to tell a story, illustrate a social problem connected to gender, and argue a claim about a specific work we’ve engaged this semester. This visual/graphic essay should be at least 5 minutes long and utilize images, film, audio, and the like that you either create or find via research. You can either create a critical assessment of a work or do creative project (such as a pastiche).

It is your choice as to how you want to compile your essay. You can record slides or create a video of spliced images. You can record original material on your phone (only if you can do so safely!).

A successful visual essay will include the following:

• Strong claim or topic
• Engaging visuals and audio
• Clear connection to key concepts from the course
• At least four secondary sources to support your claim/topic
