I have written the following: Hello! My name is _____ and I’ll be a D1 student in the fall at Marquette University School of Dentistry. I chose Marquette University School of Dentistry due to the sense of community the school provides. During Marquette University Information Sessions, the overall attitude and information the faculty gave out have always resonated with me. In particular, the faculty broadened my views regarding volunteering. In the past, I have put much emphasis on helping others outside of the country. When I heard his perspective on volunteering, it reminded me of how communities in our own area need a helping hand as well. From there, their words pushed me to be a part of my own community and help out in any way I can. Therefore, it is my goal to help underserved communities as a dental student in Marquette University in order to be reminded of how I even began the cycle of helping others within my own community.
