I’m working on a history question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

First, read “The South Vindicated from the Treason and Fanaticism of the Northern Abolitionists” by H. Manly on page 297 in the FTR textbook. Write a summary (3-5 sentences) of the main arguments in that document. (The discussion questions at the end can point you in the direction of which arguments are most important.) Then, read “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass” on page 285. In a well-written paragraph, explain how the experiences of Douglass or Jacobs disprove the arguments of Manly. Use specific examples from the text.
