Select one film or television show from the options below. Write a review of your chosen film/television show in which you make an argument about how it enhances, deepens, complicates, or challenges an aspect of African American history we’ve studied this quarter. For example, what does When They See Us tell us about mass incarceration beyond what we discussed in class? How does Judas and the Black Messiah elaborate upon the role of the FBI in crushing the Black Panther Party? What does The Life and Death of Marsha P. Johnson show us about the role of black queer activism in the post-60s period? While you should offer a brief overview of the plot, the majority of the paper should be analysis rather than summary.
