Growing Up Black Video Reaction
My response to this video is probably the same as everyone else’s. My first thoughts are that there should be no reason that YOUNG black kids should be learning this type of stuff at an early age. Yes, its what is needed in order to keep our younger generation aware of what is really going on in the world, but its still unacceptable that it has to be taught to only us blacks. Slavery and racial discrimination was supposedly ended a long time ago back in the 90’s, yet it still seems to occur in our times of today. Only the black community sees what is going on, which is how videos like the one I just watched can be created. The kids in the video appeared to be very smart and have knowledge of the racial things happen around or to them. Although, they seem brave and can speak up about this subject, I feel like I can personally still see fear in their eyes while talking. For example, the one young man telling the story about being stopped by the police on his way to class; you can tell how that made him feel by the expression on his face and the way he talked about it. It seemed like a story of “why me?” Nine times out of ten, all of black community is wondering the same thing. Why us? this video should be an eye opener to the world as a whole. These kids of the young generation should not have to experience these things.
Verbs Video Response
The video was very eye opening. When thinking about a verb, it is something that is thought of exactly what it is by definition; commonly thought of as an action word. This video did enhanced my understanding of verb tense and functioning. I say this because using a verb is one thing, but using it correctly with its correct tense is another. As I watched the video, I realized that a verb has to be used in its correct verb tense or else what is being said will not make sense or be grammatically correct. For example, with a past tense verb, instead of “I did swim to the end of the pool.”, the sentence is correctly written “I swam to the end of the pool”. The verb tense and function is something that I never thought of before watching this video. All in all, this video did teach me something that I did not know about verbs.
