The Scenario: The sponsor group has been reading your proposal with interest and now needs to know how you will allocate the funds you are requesting. Although the sponsor group is intrigued by your proposal, they are concerned about first-time grant writer’s ability to anticipate costs.

Your Task: Using your prior proposal materials and your new knowledge about budgets, write a budget narrative for your entire proposal project. Make sure to research your costs and include indirect costs as well as direct costs. You will also want to pay particular attention to your use of page layouts and standard budget categories to ensure that your budget narrative is easy to follow. If your funding source uses a standardized budget sheet, you may use that.
