Criteria for Appraisal

• Use Davies and Logan Worksheet 2 to summarize and appraise the study; 
• Identify the study purpose, research question(s), and/or hypotheses.
• Summarize the findings for each purpose/question/hypothesis.
• Explain whether or not the study addresses each purpose, research question/hypothesis adequately and/or if the study includes results for purposes that were not posed or questions that were not asked.
• Use the information from Worksheet 2 to draw conclusions about the validity of the results and whether or not the Discussion accurately reflects the Results.
• Which design (non-experimental, experimental, quasi-experimental) best describes the design of the study you have been assigned to critique. Please provide a rationale for your answer 
• What type of sample (probability or non-probability) was used in the study you were assigned for critique. Please justify your answer
• Critically appraise the information about measurement instruments in the critique to which you were assigned. Do you think the researchers provided adequate information to convince you of the validity and reliability of these instruments? Why or why not
