Writing Process & Advancement Through the Student Learning Outcomes Reflection

 

  1. For this project, you will write a reflection on your writing process and your advancement
    through the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs).  

    In 500-600 words, you will do the following:
    1. describe the purpose of your letter
    2. describe your audience
    3. tell us something about the rhetorical situation in which you are writing, especially how
    you chose the topic of analysis, as well as your audience
    4. explain how your Media Analysis discussion what is being said about your topic and how
    that establishes what is “true” about your topic.
    5. Have a look at the SLOs in the course syllabus and choose at least two to write about
    a. Choose two different SLOs
    b. define each SLO in your own words
    c. describe how this assignment contributed to your advancement through these
    SLOs  
    d. Use evidence to support your claims
    6. Tell me what changes you made after peer review, and why
    7. Finally, tell me anything else you would like about your topic, your letter, your process,
    and/or any challenges you may have had with the assignment

SLO 1: Analyze and Evaluate complex print, digital, and multimodal texts that engage significant

academic, professional, or civic issues

SLO 2: Apply rhetorical principles appropriate to different purposes and goals, within specific
disciplinary, professional and civic communities.
 

SLO 3: Research and contribute to specific areas of inquiry by evaluating, synthesizing, and
integrating strategies and sources appropriate to genre.
 

SLO 4: Adapt and employ conventions to communicate with diverse audiences who are members
of or affected by a specific area or discipline.
SLO 5: Compose a variety of texts, working individually and collaboratively, through processes
of drafting, critiquing, reflecting, and editing.
