Writing Homework Help
UOFM South African Government Land And Political Prompt
The country I choose is : South Africa
Need to add three images in this paper to help support your points. Total word count 550.
Please choose ONE of the following prompts to address in your assignment. Please remember to follow the assignment guidelines! Many students are missing a lot of points because they’re not following the directions. It’s easy points! Cite your sources, your images, and your data for your map BOTH in text and in full citations at the end.
This week you MUST include a map in your blog and you can use whatever data you want. Look at the last part of the tutorial you completed last week to see how to create your own map layer and upload it to ArcGIS Online. It’s not difficult, but, you need to follow the directions carefully.
Using ArcGIS Online, you will add data to a .csv file, input it and create your own map! Don’t go crazy with the data, meaning don’t add so much that you lose sight of the goal of just getting data onto a map. 3-10 data points should be sufficient. For this week’s assignment only, to make it easier, you may use data from Wikipedia to make your map, but there are many other sites that rank or provide data for subjects, so don’t be afraid to google around. Also, make sure you cite the source of your data in your assignment.
Prompt 1
In the discussion of Bangladesh this week, we saw several adaptations to the effects of increased storms and flooding that are related to climate change. What are the efforts underway throughout your region to mitigate or adapt to climate change? When looking for data for your map, you could map points that indicate how much money is being invested, or you could map points that indicate where different types of projects are happening (flood control, new ag types, etc.).
Prompt 2
What is the status of women throughout your region? How does this relate to fertility rates? Look at fertility rates and other indicators of female autonomy and political rights. Literacy rates (compared to men), education levels, access to contraception, the ability to vote (or voting rates), or other indicators of empowerment. You can use the Gender Inequality Index (Links to an external site.) to find data you can map.
Prompt 3
Borders are an important concept in political geography. We saw a video this week on the way borders do (and do not) exist on the ground. What are the issues around borders in your region? Is there migration within, into or out of the region? How many people and why are they migrating? It is relatively easy to find numbers of migrants and where they are coming from on the web (use a reputable source, of course).
