  • Course Objective 2: Analyze issues of social justice relating to disability and the global growth of legal and civil rights of individuals with disabilities domestically and internationally.
  • Course Objective 5: Examine the global origins and evolution of the social, governmental, media and familial factors shaping stigma, discrimination and prejudice against people with disabilities and their impact on the individual and the community of people with disabilities.  

Tasks

  1. Using the Inclusive Design Toolkit as a guide, evaluate a utensil from your kitchen (do not use a potato peeler as you have already seen that example).  
  2. Record a Studio (AKA Arc) or other video of yourself reviewing this product.  The review should be from the user’s perspective. Be sure to consider both the types of user capabilities and the product interaction.  In your review, be sure to address if the product appears to have considered universal design during its development. What led you to that conclusion? If the product does not appear to consider universal design, what could be changed to make it more accommodating?
