Speak Your Cultural Truth is a 5-6 minute oral presentation that will take place on Zoom.

The purpose of this assignment is to discuss a significant aspect of your cultural background that has influenced your self-concept.

Topics might include traditions, holiday, sports, language, geography, values, material artifacts, food, clothing, writers, artists, musicians, etc.

Chose something that you can research and that will be appropriate for a college level presentation.

Get approval of the topic from the Instructor.

Create a power point or other visual image to support your presentation.

Use at least 3 references to support your presentation. (Sources of information, books, magazines, websites, etc.)

Dates for your presentation will be discussed in class.

Plan an effective introduction, body, conclusion.

Develop and submit an outline of your presentation on the day before you are scheduled to speak.

List the references in the outline.

Practice the presentation at least 5 times.

This is your opportunity to represent your cultural background…Express pride in who you are and what makes you unique.

The outline format will be explained in class.

Follow the instructions for the outline as demonstrated in class.

Submit your outline in the text entry section of the assignment.
