You are the principal of Rice Elementary School and you are writing to the parents of the school to let them know about an upcoming event of the “San Diego Healthy Weight Collaborative”. You would like to have all families attend this health promotion event and learn about the importance of having a healthy weight and also important changes coming up at school and in the community. Write a letter to parents that explains:

1) The prevalence of obesity nationally as well as locally at the Chula Vista Elementary School District (based upon the 2010 data from the slides) and specifically at Rice Elementary School (include numbers from the lecture & reading. Include the statistics for each of these three population levels) 6 points.

2) a rationale for why parents should care about obesity by describing four important health consequences of obesity (from lecture) 4 points.

3) Describe four specific changes at the school they will see as a result of this campaign (find these examples in the assigned article) and one reason why these changes are important. 5 points
