I’m working on a history multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

What were some of the most important areas where people wanted the federal government to protect them against the power of wealthy corporations? 

• Why? 
• Give some examples for each area.

Where do we need our government to protect the public interest today?  The pandemic is one area, right?  Health care/power of insurance companies?  Other examples?
