  1. In Chapter 1, phrases like “competitive advantage,” “upsetting the equilibrium” and “creating a difference” are used. All of these terms share a common thread. What is that thread, and in your opinion do they fit or apply in the health care arena?
  2. Discuss the concept of ‘driving force’ related to marketing strategy. Include in your discussion the three options as noted by the authors as available for an effective driving force. Do you agree that organizations must make a choice around one of the three options? Explain?
  3. The chapter also discussed a mindset that should be considered “Force and Focus.” Discuss with your colleagues what this topic is about, if and why it is relevant to a health care marketing strategy.
