• Chapter 12-Group think

  Chapter 12 examines the processes that facilitate and undermine collective decision making, with special attention to the analysis of groupthink. The group that planned, carefully, the failed invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs provides the chapter’s case and I have included documentary video as well from the Challenger Disaster.

  • List, define, and give an example of each cause and symptom of groupthink identified by Janis.
  • Develop a list of 4 recommendations (provide support documentation/references as applicable) that, if followed, would minimize the possibility of groupthink developing in a group.
