Hello , I’ve uploaded this afternoon’s session, and I hope like the others the whole notion of what we are trying to do here is becoming increasingly clear. It isn’t easy I know. As noted during the talk secondary data refers technically to data collected for some other purpose, not YOUR research project. Primary data is data collected ‘primarily’ for your purpose, your project. So published journals aren’t secondary ‘data’…they are secondary ‘sources’….they report on statistical findings, and very very rarely report any data that you can use. So they might report “58% of women in hospitality prefer to work in casual positions.” 58% is not data…it’s a statistic…based on data.
