Strayer University Educational Nonprofit Organization Discussion Response
For whom are you creating value?
An educational nonprofit organization creates a ripple effect of value, so it does not have an actual primary target. The goal is to create value for children and families that want to better understand the perplexities of paying for college and financial literacy in general. With the involvement of the school district, local business, and community we can branch out and create value that can go beyond financial literacy.
Who are your most important customers and where is the customer experiencing the product or service (in person, online)
To start I will be focusing on the high school students and recent graduates within my community. I would like to reach this audience first as they are still eager and excited about the opportunity of going to college or some other form of technical training. I would prefer to host sessions and meetings in person as these meetings help build a trust and establish a better report.
What value do you deliver to the customer? Which customer needs are you satisfying?
I can deliver value to the students and community I serve by being adaptable, efficient, focused, and invested in my workforce. I live in the inner city and life can be fast paced and change often. Myself and my team must adapt and be as accommodating to those we serve as best as possible. We must be diligent, focused, and efficient in our research and with the resources we provide. The information we provide for some will unlock their ability to go to college and invest for the future, as a team we must make sure we are providing the most accurate information as possible. Finally, I as a leader must invest in my team and the organization itself. By setting a clear mission and making my staff a priority, it will increase the quality of output and attract new talent.
Which one of your customer’s problems are you helping to solve?
Assisting students and their families with financial resources and options will help lower the anxiety and stress of moving on to the next phase of life in or outside of a controlled environment (school, military etc.). Being able to help students, graduates, and the community gain financial literacy solves both an individual problem and a problem amongst the young adults and some families within my community.
