Grand Canyon University Vulnerability in The Health Care Discussion

I’m working on a health & medical multi-part question and need guidance to help me learn.

please respond to the following as a peer commenting. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted many of the deepest disparities in health and access to health care services and exposed vulnerabilities in the health care system,” said AAMC President and CEO David J. Skorton, MD. “The pandemic also has underscored the vital role that physicians and other health care providers play in our nation’s health care infrastructure and the need to ensure we have enough physicians to meet America’s needs.” The pluralistic healthcare system in the United States contains a system of private production but relies more heavily on a fee-for-service method relative to other systems. In addition, healthcare providers are reimbursed by many types of payers, including the government and private insurance firms ( Dewar 2017). In regard to supply of physicians, the limited availability results in higher pricing for patients. There are many strict apprenticeship requirements that have imposed many restrictions in the medical field (Dewar, 2017). The government intervention in the medical profession contributes to the decline in physicians graduated and pursuing the career of medicine. At a recent congressional hearing on addressing the dire health care workforce shortage, several medical professionals noted that the issue of increasing clinician burnout, which has been intensified by the pandemic, could cause doctors and other health workers to cut back their hours or accelerate their plans for retirement. Public policy could play a role in producing more doctors by assisting them in preparation for the life changing work they must complete. The suggestion of educational assistance with the promise to work commitment is a plausible solution.
