Academy for Salon Professionals Week 1 Moral Dilemmas Discussion

Give me an example of a moral dilemma. It can be something from your own life, the news, or whatever–it doesn’t have to be an issue we discuss in this course. Tell me which moral rules you think that dilemma involves (they can be the moral rules you believe or were taught; they don’t have to be something from this course), and how the dilemma should be resolved. Please write at least 50 words.

(You can use your own moral dilemma, but If you get stuck, here’s a moral dilemma you can use: You are a doctor, and you have a patient who has contracted an extremely virulent strain of the Ebola virus. You feel a duty to care for him and make him better, but keeping him alive increases the risk that that virus will get out of the clinic and infect many other people. You feel a duty to protect the general public from this virus. There is no cure except to let the disease run its course; some patients live, and some die. You think this patient is likely to live, for he is young and otherwise healthy. What should you do, and why?)
