you should summarize the major points of the reading, but the bulk of your writing should be a discussion and analysis of those points. I want to hear your take on the reading(s), I don’t want a book report.

I would highly encourage you to include direct quotes or paraphrases from the readings. When you do this, make sure to include an in-text citation. You can cite in any format you want (MLA, Chicago, APA, etc.)…my personal favorite is Chicago Author-Date because it’s clear and provides all the essential in-text info you’re looking for

• Explain Polanyi’s argument in the Great Transformation and the dis-embedding of the economy, and how it builds on but is different from Marx’s.
• Explain the Myth of the Self-regulating Market and why it is so important to our contemporary perspective on economics
• Describe the assumptions of the Market Society, and explain why these assumptions don’t hold.
