Reply to this in at least in at least 125 words. The first part of this assignment, Academic Integrity, is probably one of the most important assignments we will be tasked with completing. Not only should we take it seriously for ourselves, but we should also take it seriously for those around us. It is not fair that others would do their work with integrity and then one to cheat or use another’s work for our own. Academic integrity shouldn’t just be limited to the academic world. We should adopt the concept of integrity in all areas of life. Whether that be academically, professionally, personally, or other areas, we should desire to be people of integrity and to do what is right. There are several violations of academic integrity. Some are not giving credit to where it is due, using someone else’s work as your own, and incorrectly citing a phrase that you borrowed.

This is where the importance of APA citations come in to play. APA Style uses the last name of an author and uses the year that the work was published (University of Maryland 2020). I enjoy the format of APA citation for a couple of reasons. To start, it is what I have always used, therefore I am used to it. The APA style seems to be the most clear and concise way to properly cite a source. We should definitely all use the same citation method no matter who or what we are citing. In my opinion, we should eliminate one or more citation method and leave only the APA style of citations.
