Pasadena City College Kurt Vonnegut on the Shapes of Stories Video Questions

I’m stuck on a English question and need an explanation.

Hii, I just need an analysis of the short reading as it relates to soviet propaganda, analyzing the words being used before and after joining soviet proletariat and such.

1) Think about the purpose of the source. What was the author’s overall message or argument? What was he trying to get across? Is the message explicit, or are there implicit messages as well?

2) How does the author try to get the message across: What plot does he employ (apply Kurt Vonnegut’s methodology as presented in “The shapes of Stories”)?

3) What can a careful reading of the text tell you? How does the language work? What are the important metaphors or symbols that the author uses to get his message across more efficiently? What about the silences — what does the author choose NOT to talk about?
