Research Gap and Problem Statement

A problem statement is a concise description of the specific focus for a study.  You have reviewed the research literature about your topic/problem and identified a gap in the research that needs further study. For this Assignment, you will describe the gap and complete a concise problem statement for your Capstone project.

To Prepare

• Review your Discussion question post for this week.  Consider the gap that you have identified.
• Reflect on the feedback to your Discussion post by your classmates and Instructor.
• Review the Learning Resources for this week, including “Problem Statement Description and Examples.”
• Think about your topic and the information that you learned from completing the Literature Review. 

Assignment (1–2 pages)

Considering the information that you have learned about your topic through the Literature Review process, include the following:

• Describe the gap in the literature that your Capstone paper will help to address.
• Write a concise problem statement, based on this gap in the research literature about your topic, supported by information cited from your peer-reviewed sources.Learning Resources
