In order to prepare for our first unit, you will watch some true crime videos. Below, I have provided links to two highly successful YouTubers who have gained a lot of subscribers by telling crime stories. You can pick one of these YouTubers but be sure to watch at least two of their videos. There will be a related discussion and assignment so be sure to take notes.

Please tell me the titles of the two videos you watched. Next for each video, tell me about how that YouTuber told the story. How was the evidence organized and presented? Do you think they provided all the details or did they leave some out (be sure to give examples). Did the person remain neutral or did they interject with their own opinion and/or analysis? If so, do you think it was warranted? Do you trust their account or would you want to fact check them? How effective do you think their story would had it been written as an essay instead of delivered orally? Would you consider these types of videos Language Arts? If so, what do you think the connection is between true crime stories (whether read or heard) and composition? Why do you think these types of videos are so popular?
