Research Paper – Social Problems Research Paper

Select a social problem that you want to explore on a deeper level. It can be a social problem that is

affecting your community and/or it could be a social problem that is affecting society on a much

larger scale. Please make sure to use 3 outside scholarly sources besides the book (if you are

going to use the book)!

Please answer these questions within the paper:

1) Why did you select this particular social problem?

2) Using the three main sociological perspectives, explain how each would view this social

problem AND what solutions would they propose to combat this social problem.

3) Would you use micro and/or macro analysis to investigate this social problem? Why would choose

one over the other or why would you choose both?

4) How prevalent was this social problem 20 years ago?

5) Imagine you are a sociologist who has just been given a grant to investigate this social problem.

How would you go about conducting a research study for this particular issue? What research

methods would you utilize and why?

6) What solutions would you propose be implemented in order to resolve this social problem?
