Groups of students (five students per group) will write a short report (8 pages) on the social composition of one low-income neighborhood in Southern California. The aim of the project is to assess the opportunities and challenges for residents of the neighborhood. The neighborhood profile will include a neighborhood’s history, social and ethnic-racial composition, opportunities and barriers, and possible causes for these conditions. 

We have chosen to do this report on the City of San Bernardino, specifically the Valley College Neighborhood. I have already written the first three paragraphs to start an introduction but I need two paragraphs, one that summarizes the readings and methods for my findings. I will attach the readings. The second paragraph should be about whatever you find specifically, again I will attach some articles for the findings, and if you’d like you can also find some that will help this project.

This source will help provide insight into the gentrification process and what happens in society to make things change. (this should be used for paragraph one)

Both of these sources explain some of the housing and income problems in the city of San Bernardino that cause gentrification and the “need” for it. (this should be used for paragraph two)

The first paragraph should introduce what I chose and why + how I connected this to the topic. (I chose to talk about gentrification in the city of san Bernardino)
