The essay answers one question: How would you tell me the Old Testament story as you have learned it from our course and its readings? (Hint: this should likely include some things about the mission of God and God’s people, and about the character of its central protagonist: God!) Again, I want you to show me that you’ve attended this course and show me what you learned (that is, how I taught the Old Testament as a story — even if you disagree, which is fine!). This should NOT be a paper you could have written before taking this course.

The essay should use biblical passages from the Old Testament, Kelle’s Telling the Old Testament Story, and resources from the New Interpreter’s Study Bible (it is also permissible to use any of the other readings or videos assigned during our course) to show me what you have learned in this course.
