University of California Cognitive Dissonance the Covid19 Conundrum Discussion

 

I’m working on a psychology question and need guidance to help me learn.

Write about a personal experience that led you to feel cognitive dissonance.  These can include things like driving drunk, amassing a lot of debt, dating a disliked person, or any other situation where you experienced an unpleasant state, anxiety, or tension as a result of an inconsistency between an attitude and a belief, between two attitudes, or between an attitude and a behavior.  

In your essay, be sure to specify the inconsistency that created the dissonance (e.g., was it an inconsistency between an attitude and a behavior, between two attitudes, etc).  Also, explain how you resolved the dissonance you experienced (e.g., did you experience attitude change, or did you change your behavior). 

If you still have not resolved the inconsistency, then explain how you might resolve it in the future.
