  • Specific learning progressions
  • Strategies that encourage multiple forms of communication

Teach the mini-lesson, approved by the teacher or SLPA, in a small group or one-on-one with a student.

Write a 1-page reflection on the instructional experience that addresses the following:

  • Explanation for why the student(s) did or did not meet learning goals and objectives
  • Ideas for redesigning future instruction with an explanation of how these changes would improve student learning for students with and without disabilities
  • Explanation of the actions you took to demonstrate your current level of experience, including answers to the following questions:
  • How did I demonstrate thoughtful and responsible listening and communication skills?
  • How did I promote critical thinking during this instructional experience?
  • How did I contribute to a positive climate in the classroom during this instructional experience?
  • How did I demonstrate a level of responsibility and ethical judgment appropriate for a professional educator during this instructional experience?
